Excerpt from Chronicles of The Traveler

[from the Journal of The Traveler]

Today I found this...tablet? It was blank, but when I touched it, it began to display script I had never seen. From what I can tell, this apparatus is called the Vapor Suggestum. Drawings show across it. They appear to be of other lands. Placing my finger on one of these drawings caused the tablet to go blank. I suddenly felt as if my very soul was being pulled from my body. Perhaps it was. Because I found myself in a land not my own. What is this thing. I'll ponder more on it tomorrow.
