Born within the circle of standing stones at dawn, one could say my life (and that very day) had a magical start, or that I was blessed with the magic and grace of the Divines themselves, and blessed I was indeed.
I can not say who my true parents were, as the village in which I was raised (perhaps due to the unusual circumstances surrounding my birth) decided to raise me together, I was denied one set of parents and instead had many, all who showed me love, patience and compassion as the way.
From the time I can remember I was drawn to the powers and arts of food, and herbs, flowers, and grains as a way to bolster good health, good cheer, and raise the spirits of my people. The rising of the bread and the smells of vitality they brought to light, the distilling of certain flowers with the power to restore ones health or give protection from harms.
It was not til I grew into a young woman that I discovered that the foods and elixirs I had learned to make as a child were not the only things that could bring good health to those I loved, but that my strong will and desires could heal them from harm.
It was then I knew that my life was meant to be lived in caring for and healing those in need, strengthening the resolve of my people, and bringing joy to all I could. In those simple acts I found a happiness of my own.
